Who
we are
It doesn’t rain much in Apulia.
Giorgio Laudisa, the host.
Our
masseria, not long ago, was merely an industrious workplace. We have
restored it with great care, making it hospitable and welcoming but
also respecting its spirit and its history.
This is the land of great expanses of grain and of man’s work. Fortunately
for us, it is still “off the beaten track.”
These are places rich with the magic of uncontaminated nature, the
history of its inhabitants, and the art of both city and countryside.
They are places far removed from din and confusion and are just now
being discovered by more attentive tourists.
It would be our pleasure to show them to you.
Masseria Canestrello
Whoever
wants to become familiar with Central-Northern Apulia - its grain
fields, ancient history and the natural wonders of Gargano and the
Subappennine foothills—will find
the Bed and Breakfact of Masseria Canestrello an ideal center for
calming and comfortable visits at any time of year.
We are in the north of Apulia, near the town of Candela, in the province
of Foggia, at the apex of a square that comprehends the Subappennines,
where tortuous, secluded roads traverse an enchanting landscape, the
promontory of Gargano extending into the Adriatic, the cities of the
interior rich with art such as Troia and Lucera, or those of the coast
north of Bari such as Giovinazzo, Molfetta, Trani and Barletta.
In an hour by car from Masseria Canestrello, you can comfortably reach
the forests or the beaches in the National Park of Gargano, or visit
the vast swampy area near the salt works of Margherita di Savoia,
or even the extraordinary Castel del Monte in the middle of the Murgia,
near Andria, or visit Barletta and the De Nittis painting collection,
housed in a sunny, white stone castle by the sea.

Our
pool has views of the heights.
Or
you could even stay and read a book by the pool at Masseria Canestrello,
or go for a bicycle ride along the roads and paths between the fields
or towards the hills.
A true anti-stress therapy
Welcome to Masseria Canestrello.
