The towns of Gargano

The numerous towns of Gargano are surrounded by woods and cultivated fields, spread out on the high lands and along the coast. Very different from one another, they all retain the same, even if humble, traces of their common past.

One of the most distinct characteristics of the National Park of Gargano is that includes an infinite variety of territory. The natural parks in fact alternate continuously
with the many buildings and sites constructed throughout the centuries, thus creating an interesting and beautiful landscape.

History and Nature here, on this promontory jutting out into the Adriatic, intertwine in a way as to give one of the best landscape synthesis in Italy.

It's simply impossible to speak of all the towns, monasteries and small settlements that the tourist encounters here. The best tourist guides will point out all the most important itineraries according to the season of year you come to visit and according to the time available.
Among the many possible places to visit don't miss the marvellous sanctuary in the Cave of Saint Michael Archangel on Monte Sant' Angelo, and also the extraordinary orange gardens in Vico of Gargano, and you must visit Manfredonia and its castle.

And should you chance to come here without a set destination, don't worry - you won't ever regret it.
